Started Wing Stand Over the Weekend
With the holiday weekend, I had some time to work on my wing stands. I had planned on using my steel wing stands and bolt them to the floor but I changed my mind at the last minute and built them out of wood. I decided that I didn't want to drill my concrete floor since I spent so much tim coating it with epoxy. The stands are kind of a mix between Brad Oliver's stands with a few of my own design changes. I almost went with a mobile wing stand like the one Jim built but I wanted to hang both wings together. The other thing was I wanted to be able to open my garage door. I ended up spending like $70 on supplies. When I am done I will tear it down and build the wing cradle using the wood.
I copied Rudy's design on the wing brackets. Here is a close up shot. I can adjust them by turning the nuts.
