Riveted Ribs to the Spar - Left Wing

Time to do some riveting. The manual says to rivet all the main ribs except the tip to the front and rear spar. So here we go. Ear muffs.. Check...

The first one goes really well. Here's a tip. Start at the *TIP* of the wing and work back towards the wing root. This will give you much more room to hold the gun between the ribs.

Here's another shot of the front of the spar on a completed rib.

All the ribs have been riveted to the front spar in this picture. I then clecoed the rear spar in place.

Tape the spar where needed to avoid dinging it with the bucking bar.

I have three forward holes and a larger hole for the wing conduit.

The last rib on the tip of the wing gets riveted to the rear spar only with flush rivets

One thing the manual doesn't tell you is to avoid riveting any of the holes where the W-721 flap brace attaches tot he rear spar. There is also a similar brace for the aileron. Make sure you don't rivet those holes yet. I had to drill one out.

Here you can see the line of rivets that do not need riveted yet. All the holes where the flap brace attaches to the rear spar.
